Of late, I have woken up to a certain truth that I must share with you. I am a human being who God chose, out of His immense love, to make in His own image and likeness. God loves man. God loves us so much and everyday,each of us carries His image and likeness in ourselves. Do you know that God has such vast and deep knowledge of you that even before you speak a word He knows exactly what you will say? Do you know that God knew you and had all the days of your life written in His book before you even started living? Read Psalm 139, it’s one of the deepest scriptures of the Bible.
If God, in His wisdom, holiness and perfectness could love me as I am, who am I to think less of myself? So I am beautiful, I am special, I am a JEWEL, not because I’m a perfect human being and not because I am vain or anything…but because I carry the image, likeness and breath of God in me. I boast, not because of myself but because of He who is in me and has loved me perfectly.
So a thought occurred to me. It’s just my thought…tell me what you think about it. I think it is even sinful to entertain self-pitious thoughts. I think it is wrong for any person to lose value in themselves because it would mean that we are looking to ourselves to be perfect instead of looking to Him who is perfect and who has chosen to reveal Himself to the world through us. What do you think?
On my own, I may be nothing, but should I not find myself in God? Isn’t He the source of who I am? My Maker, My Father, My God? Isn’t He the whole purpose of my life? Am I not created to bring glory to Him in the wholeness of my life?
True, the past may have been wasted on foolish searches and endeavours…and to man, it may seem that one’s past defines who He is. But God, He knows the past…He also knows the plans He has for us. And though we fall, we can rise up again, because He is God. We cannot allow anything to make us stay down. It is not His plan for us. It is not our destiny, it is not our heritage.
